Wonwood Original is a reading-life blog for people who want to read more and enjoy it more, without turning books into homework. The writing here is signed June Hartley.
What you’ll find on the shelf
- ChallengesYearly reading goals and challenge cards built as menus, not checklists.
- HabitsWays to fit twenty pages into a week that’s already full.
- NooksReading corners, light and chairs, mostly from things you already own.
- TogetherBook clubs and buddy reads that don’t fizzle after the second meeting.
- NotesReading journals, trackers and gentle ways to annotate.
How a guide gets written
June drafts with a machine-made outline at her elbow, then throws most of it away, writes the guide herself and checks every title, publication date, format and series order against the publisher’s page or a library catalog. If something can’t be confirmed, it doesn’t go in.
Nobody pays for a book to appear here, and recommendations aren’t sponsored by publishers.
What stays off the shelf
Pirated ebooks or PDF downloads, gossip about authors’ private lives, and politics. If you’re looking for a free copy, your local library almost certainly has one, and quitting a library book costs nothing.
The sweatshirt on the home page is there to look at only; this site doesn’t sell or ship anything. Spotted a wrong date or a mixed-up series order? The contact page is the fastest way to get it fixed.
